The Fire Tonight: Show Posters

The Fire Tonight
Music is best when it's loud, raucus, and fun
Several years ago a group of guys who would later become great friends started a band at their college. The group went through a name change (from The Collin Derrick Band to The Fire Tonight) and several bass and guitar players. But the core influence of the band's sound -- a driving, vibrant piano-rock, sprinkled with salty experience -- has stayed the same. It's been my privilege to design many of the band's show posters for local gigs since 2006. Here are a few.
An in-progress design. The warm colors evoke summer, so I'll probably edit this and use it for a later show. But I really like how the colors vibrate on the page, like guitar strings.
For an upcoming show in a small "hipster" bar in DC where the clientele love classic video games, Stephen asked me to provide some pixel-style posters.
Before they became The Fire Tonight, the band played under the name The Collin Derrick Band, named for the lead singer.  They kicked off their first big push in the Southeast under their old name but changed it shortly afterward to reflect the band's desire to be a joint project.
